The Time Traveler’s Boyfriend on Sale

Today (August 25th, 2014). Annabelle Costa’s The Time Traveler’s Boyfriend is on sale for 99 cents and it will be going up a little each day until it’s back to its usual price of $4.99.

This is a fun chick-lit style book but at the same time it’s surprisingly moving. There’s an element of time travel, but it’s mostly a love story. It’s like The Time Traveler’s Wife if it were written by Sophie Kinsella!

Time Traveler’s Boyfriend: Days away!

We are so proud to be publishing Annabelle Costa’s The Time Traveler’s Boyfriend, never before seen anywhere else!

I may be biased, but I think this is Annabelle’s best work to date. It’s got the cheeky humor of all Annabelle’s work along with a deeply moving love story.

Here is the description:

Claudia’s geeky boyfriend Adam has just invented a time machine.

No, really—he has.  She doesn’t believe it either until Adam provides her with definitive proof that he does, in fact, have a functioning time travel device sitting in the living room of his Manhattan brownstone.

But instead of getting ready to accept the Nobel Prize, Adam has very different plans for his groundbreaking invention.  He wants Claudia to use the machine to travel back in time and stop the accident that landed him in a wheelchair over a decade ago, and prevent the trajectory of events that he believes ruined his life.

When Claudia reluctantly agrees to become the first human time traveler, she knows she’s making a big gamble.  If she succeeds, she could have the happy ending with commitment-phobic Adam that she’s always dreamed of.  But if she fails, it could mean the end of the universe as she knows it.

The only problem is I didn’t finalize a cover in time!

We are just days from the launch and there is no cover image yet. Tsk, tsk on me. Part of the problem is that our original designer fell ill and could not complete his design, but I should have left more time for potential problems like that. We’re back on track now, so we should have a cover ready to go within the next day or two. It’s going to be some late nights for me getting it all together in time!

Happy Dance

We just found out that we’ve won a video scholarship from Rory Gordon Photo!

What does that mean?

Well, Rory has a business where she tells the stories of people and businesses through photo and video. She had a contest last year for someone to win a free video about their small business.

Dev Love Press was in the top three and now it’s just been announced that we won the video!

So Ms. Rory is going to be coming to see our little office and make a video about what we do. I’m so looking forward to sharing it with you.

It looks like she’ll be coming to film in the spring when The Boy Next Door launches on platforms like Nook, Smashwords, and Kobo.

I’ll keep you posted about it!

Blog Tour Kick Off

It’s time for Annabelle’s virtual book tour!

I think it’s so cool that in the age of the Internet we can do a book tour over the web instead of physically in stores!

The first stop on our book tour is Vixie’s Stories where Annabelle wrote a guest post Why I Wrote The Boy Next Door.

It’s got one of her signature graphics, too. So much fun!

Six Sentence Sunday: The Boy Next Door

For the Six Sentence Sunday event, here is a six sentence excerpt of our new book, The Boy Next Door by Annabelle Costa…

As my finger brushes against the slight stubble on his chin, I can’t help but feel like if Melissa were seeing this, she wouldn’t be too happy.

“You shouldn’t worry about Melissa,” he says, as if reading my mind.

“I just don’t want to lose you,” I say.

“Come on, you’re never going to lose me,” Jason says. And I think that he believes it, but I’m not so sure. I think before Melissa will commit to him, there’s going to be an ultimatum, and it’s going to include my name.

The Boy Next Door

Through middle school, high school, bad dates, and an ill-advised punk phase, Tasha has always been able to count on Jason. Since the day he moved in next door, he’s gone from the weird kid in a wheelchair to Tasha’s most trusted friend. But lives change and the friends are going in different directions. When Jason and Tasha rekindle their friendship, sparks fly. After years of being a wild soul, now the ex-lead of a band turned music teacher is just looking for a relationship to last.

When none other than Jason introduces her to a man who can give her what she wants, Tasha is on the verge of throwing passion and love away just so she can forget her troubled past and settle down. But Jason isn’t ready to give her up just yet.
